Advanced nurse practitioners offer high quality, patient-centred care to patients with our cardiology services.

The Trust has introduced an advanced nurse practitioner service within our cardiac directorate, offering high quality, patient-centred care to elective and emergency patients across cardiology and cardiothoracic services. Our advanced nurse practitioners support clinical teams within the Trust and beyond to care for inpatients, patients who are awaiting cardiac procedures and patients who are preparing to be discharged from hospital care. The advanced nurse practitioners work across professional boundaries, encouraging inter-disciplinary working to help improve outcomes for patients and ensure efficient use of resources.

Our service is compliant with: RCN Advanced Nurse Practitioner Core Competencies (2012), Health Education England Multi Professional Framework for advanced clinical practice in England (2017) and Department of Health, Advanced Level Nursing, (2010).
