Outpatient appointment information
Information on supporting you while you wait, preparing for, and what to expect before, during, and after an appointment, including accessibility support and booking an interpreter.
Surgery
If you are coming into hospital for surgery or a procedure as an outpatient, or as an inpatient, requiring a hospital stay for recovery there are things you can do to prepare.
During your stay
From mealtimes to personal protective equipment, coming into hospital can sometimes be daunting and there is a lot you may want to know.
Patient information leaflets
Explore our comprehensive collection of leaflets categorised by service here, or navigate to our services directory to access the relevant leaflet for you, accompanied by further details about each service.
Patient transport
For some individuals, reaching the hospital can pose challenges due to their clinical condition or limited mobility. Following the Department of Health's guidelines, we offer a non-emergency transport service to assist patients who require support to reach the hospital.
Overseas patients
Our overseas office assesses eligibility for free NHS treatment for patients from abroad. While access to immediately necessary, urgent care, or maternity services is not denied based on ability to pay, charges may apply for non-residents.
Health records
Your health records (also known as patient or medical records) are a log of your health and the treatment you have received from the NHS. We hold this information to ensure you receive the best possible care now and in the future.
Waiting for an appointment, surgery or treatment
We focus on helping those who need urgent care the most and those who have been waiting the longest and are doing our best to see patients on our waiting lists as fast and safely as we can.
Feedback - complaints, comments and concerns
We value your feedback on the care and treatment you've received from us. Our dedicated staff strives to provide the highest quality care to all our patients, and your support and encouragement mean a great deal to us.
