CQC national NHS patient survey programme
The Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England, run a national survey programme, to find out about the experiences of patients receiving care and treatment and to identify areas for improvement.
The CQC use the results from patient surveys in the regulation, monitoring and inspection of NHS trusts in England. The results are also given to NHS providers to support understanding of what they are doing well and what they could do better.
There are several routine national surveys. Those that apply to our Trust include:
- Adult inpatient care survey
- Cancer survey
- Children’s and young people survey
- Maternity survey
- Urgent and emergency care survey
Here you can read more about each recent survey and the results
Here you can read more about upcoming surveys – these usually run annually or bi-annually
If you have received care at our Trust, you may be asked to complete a national survey – you will be sent the survey in the post or by text message.
Not everyone has an opportunity to complete a national survey, as they only run at specific times of the year. However, there are many other ways you can feedback if you would like to.
