Urology clinics

We try to operate our clinics as ‘one-stop’ clinics to reduce the number of hospital appointments for each patient.

Clinics are offered at Charing Cross Hospital – please check your appointment letter for details. Our clinics include:

• daily one-stop haematuria (blood in urine) clinic
• daily one-stop prostate clinics for patients with raised PSA
• designated lower urinary tract symptoms clinic for benign prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate) and bladder outflow obstruction (difficulty urinating)
• regular one-stop clinics for functional urology for patients with complex and long-term urinary tract symptoms
• regular neurological pelvic organ clinic “NPOP” clinic offers joint consultations with urology, colorectal surgery, urogynaecology and physiotherapy for people with complex pelvic floor disorders
• regular male health (andrology) clinics for patients with erectile dysfunction or fertility issues
• regular stone clinics, including non-invasive treatment for stones in an outpatient setting using our lithotripsy machine where appropriate#
• regular nurse-led clinics for patients with long-term incontinence, intravesical instillations unit for treatment of bladder tumours, and surveillance of post-diagnosis prostate cancer patients

We also have available in our outpatient department:

• uroflowmetry
• flexible cystoscopy
• prostate biopsy (transperineal under local anaesthetic)
• urodynamics
• intravesical instillations unit for treatment of bladder tumours (filling of bladder with medication)
