GP
Please use NHS e-Referrals to refer a patient to our orthopaedics service.
Tertiary referrals
We only accept tertiary referrals from other NHS Trusts for the following subspecialty services:
- Limb reconstruction – online via referapatient.org (select St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust and Specialist Fracture)
- Pelvis & Acetabular – via email to the weekly MDT using the Pelvic trauma MDT referral form.
To avoid delay in MDT discussion, please ensure all relevant images have been transferred via IEP to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, including the original reports.
MDT discussions take place on Tuesday mornings, and we aim to communicate outcomes to referring teams using the NHS emails provided on the same day as the MDT has occurred. Referrals received after midday on Monday may not be reviewed until the following week.
Given the recent increase in tertiary referrals, we cannot guarantee to discuss stable (incomplete, undisplaced and unilateral) LC1 injuries within a week.
Advice to weight-bear should be sought from your local orthopaedic service in the first instance, and only referred onwards should they have concerns regarding instability.
Please note that we do not discuss sacral pressure sores/OM, pelvic sarcomas or MUO, revision arthroplasty or coccydynia/coccygeal fractures.
