Nutrition and dietetics patient information
Find out what to expect when you come to hospital for your nutrition and dietetics appointment.
Before your outpatient appointment
Please remember to check your appointment letter for anything specific you have been asked to take with you. You are welcome to bring a relative or close friend with you to your appointment.
In addition, it would be helpful if you could bring a list of questions that you may want to ask the Dietitian along with a list of your regular medications.
During your appointment
The waiting times for a scheduled outpatient appointment can vary from no wait to 20 minutes.
On average, a regular appointment can take up to 30 minutes. Keep in mind the length of appointments vary in combination with your medical condition and nutrition requirements
You will be asked for your health and diet history and your current symptoms. You will also be weighed and your height will be measured.
After your appointment
You will be given specific tailored dietary advice to take away. A follow-up appointment will be arranged if needed.
