We have a team of specialist pharmacists, technicians and administrative staff who will help to optimise the management of your medicines when you are an inpatient on one of our wards, when you visit one of our outpatient clinics or when you are under the care of one of our dialysis units.

As a kidney patient, you may need to take a range of medicines to treat the underlying cause of your kidney problems. You may also need to take medicines to treat other health conditions you have.

The pharmacy team will support other members of the clinical team to ensure t

hat the medicines prescribed for you are safe and appropriate and will counsel you on any new medicines you start before you go home

The pharmacy team will also support you to ensure that you take your medicines in the correct way. This will help to ensure that any medicines you take are as effective as possible and reduce the chances of them causing any complications or side effects
