Find out how to refer patients with suspected genetic and atypical forms of diabetes to our service.

Care providers should refer people who:

• need clarity about their diabetes diagnosis – we can provide clarity around diagnosis for type 1, MODY, type 2, ketosis prone diabetes and other types
• people in whom you are considering MODY – we can arrange genetic testing and counselling for people with suspected genetic forms of diabetes
• anyone with a confirmed diagnosis of atypical diabetes

We will provide on-going specialist and personalised care for people with atypical forms of diabetes. If they are not local to our area, we can arrange to see them annually to offer specialist input.
