Staff accommodation

Live close to where you work in conveniently located staff accommodation: open to all employees

If you work for the Trust, you can apply to live in staff accommodation in flats conveniently located on or near to our main sites at Hammersmith, Charing Cross and in locations close to St Mary’s hospitals. Many members of staff live in our staff accommodation. 

Accommodation at Hammersmith Hospital

• This accommodation is managed by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and is located to right of the main hospital in Holborn and Clement Danes House.
• The accommodation is self-contained studios and one-bedroom flats
• Rent is £872 a month for a studio (correct as of April 2023) and £1,016 for a one-bedroom flat excluding council tax (correct as of April 2023) 
• Tenancies are Assured Shorthold Tenancies and provided you continue to work for the Trust, you can continue to live in the accommodation
• The Hammersmith accommodation are self-contained studios with a shower room, small kitchen area and a balcony. It was built to modern standards in 2005.
• Parking is limited but you can apply for a permit from the council.

Accommodation at Charing Cross Hospital

• This accommodation is managed by A2Dominion and is located on the Charing Cross Hospital site
• The accommodation is single rooms within shared flats. There are usually 5-6 people sharing a flat
• Rent is £760 per month for shared single accommodation including bills and council tax (correct as of September 2023).
• Tenancies are Assured Shorthold Tenancies and provided as long as you continue to work for the Trust, you can continue to live in the accommodation
• The Charing Cross accommodation includes: a bed, desk and chair in each room and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities
• Parking is limited but you can apply for a permit from the council.

Accommodation close to St Mary’s Hospital

• This accommodation is social housing provided via Catalyst Housing. Minimum tenancy is 6 months and the Keyworker Schemes included are Harrow Road, Lockbridge and Ashgrove Court, Milne House  
• The accommodation is single rooms within shared flats. Each flat has three to five bedrooms.
• Rent is £750 to £800 per month inclusive of bills and council tax (correct as at April 2023)
• The lease is a minimum tenancy period of six months. As long as you continue to be a keyworker, you can continue to live in the accommodation.
• The St Mary’s accommodation includes: All the flats are fully furnished with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Each room has a TV aerial socket and phone point. WiFi is also available. Shared washing machines and dryers are provided.
• Parking is limited but you can apply for a permit from the council.

Security

All staff accommodation has standard locks and many of the flats have electronic key pads. Hospital security looks after Hammersmith and Charing Cross accommodation. Catalyst accommodation has a warden during working hours. Parking is very limited at all of our accommodation but once you become a resident you may apply for a permit via the council.

Eligibility

Anyone who already works at the Trust or has accepted a new permanent job at the Trust can apply for accommodation.

Waiting lists for accommodation vary and when demand is high, we prioritise requests dependent on the role, ie clinical roles are prioritised over non-clinical roles. We cannot help everyone that applies and it may not be possible to help for the dates required.
