Miss Shankari Arulkumaran Consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist

Background

Miss Shankari Arulkumaran is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at St Mary’s Hospital. She is the site lead for antenatal services and clinical guidelines and is involved with maternity clinical risk management. In addition to a community gynaecology clinic, her remit includes the running of three new services at St Mary’s Hospital including perinatal psychiatry, postnatal care and bereavement.

Miss Arulkumaran received a first in her BSc in medical anthropology at University College London and was on the Dean’s List for her work on contraception and reproductive rights in rural India. She has RCOG Advanced Training Specialty Modules in fetal medicine and advanced labour ward practice. She received a MD in premature labour and was awarded an MSc with merit in quality and safety in healthcare, both from Imperial College London.
