Doreen Sylvester

Background

Dr Nisha Patel is a consultant gastroenterologist and general physician at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She graduated from the Royal Free Hospital Medical School and University College London in 2004. Dr Patel is a lower GI interventional endoscopist and has a specialist interest in complex polypectomy and ESD. She is also the clinical director of the West London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. 

She has led a number of endoscopy technology projects with support from the Department of Health and Wellcome Trust working closely with the Hamlyn Robotics Centre and Imperial Global Healthcare Innovations Centre. She was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in 2017 for her work on the role of robotics in endoluminal surgery.

Dr Patel is the NW Thames London Endoscopy Academy lead improving endoscopy training in the region.
