Background
Dr Kushan Karunaratne is a consultant neurologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He studied medicine at King's College London and completed his neurology specialist training at Charing Cross Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
He has specialist expertise in management of first seizures (fits), blackouts and epilepsy. He runs the first seizure (fit) service for the trust and undertakes complex epilepsy clinics.
He is experienced in managing patients with general neurological conditions such as headache, dizziness, stroke, tremor, Parkinson's disease, neuroinflammation, dementia and neuromuscular conditions.
