Background

Mr Jiten Jaipuria is a consultant urologist with expertise in prostate cancer diagnostics, focal therapy, brachytherapy, and robotic prostatectomy. His primary appointment is with Portsmouth University Healthcare NHS Trust, while he also maintains a significant practice in focal therapy for prostate cancer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he is engaged through the NHS Trust’s bank.

Mr Jaipuria completed his medical training in India, earning his MBBS and a Master’s degree in General Surgery from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in laparoscopic hernia surgery and served as a trauma surgeon at the Jai Prakash Narayan Trauma Center, affiliated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

He further specialized in urology at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences before joining the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, New Delhi, as a consultant. There, he obtained certification in robotic surgery, enabling him to independently perform complex open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures for renal, bladder, and prostate cancers.

In 2021, he relocated to the United Kingdom, where he completed prestigious fellowships in Focal Therapy and Urological cancers with special emphasis on Robotic Prostatectomy at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Mr Jaipuria holds a PhD in Biotechnology, enhancing his ability to integrate cutting-edge research with surgical practice. His extensive experience across multiple surgical subspecialties allows him to manage complex and challenging cases with a high level of proficiency. Recognized as a high-volume, instructor-grade surgeon, he is known for excellence in both patient care and medical education. 

Mr Jaipuria is an active member of the editorial boards of several internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals. He has also previously served on the Guideline Committee for Prostate Cancer in India. His contributions to the field also extend to the design of randomized clinical trials, with research outcomes that have been incorporated into international guidelines and legislative frameworks.
