Background

Dr Gitta Madani is a consultant radiologist with a specialist interest in head and neck radiology and is the lead in head and neck imaging at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

She performs every aspect of head and neck radiology including oncology, thyroid, skull base pathology, otological, sinonasal, orbital, salivary, dental, maxillofacial and temporomandibular joint imaging. She undertakes ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and biopsy, sialograms and salivary intervention for the removal of calculi and balloon dilatation of strictures.

She trained at Imperial College London in medicine and specialised in head and neck radiology at the Royal Free, University College and the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear hospitals.

She is involved in radiology training and lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of courses and meetings. Dr Madani's research interests include thyroid, airway and otology. She is an assistant editor for the Clinical Radiology Journal and the training advisor for the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging.
