Background

Miss Asmaa Al-Kufaishi is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at St Mary’s Hospital, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. With extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gynaecological conditions, she specialises in benign gynaecology, particularly the management of menstrual disorders, fibroids, adenomyosis, and acute gynaecological issues, including early pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and molar pregnancies. She is committed to delivering personalised, patient-centred care tailored to each individual’s needs.

In addition to her proficiency in inpatient surgical procedures, she offers a range of outpatient treatments in a comfortable, office-based setting. These include hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, IUD insertion, and the treatment of polyps and fibroids, all aimed at reducing the need for hospital admission and supporting quicker recovery times for patients.

After earning her medical degree from Imperial College London, Miss Al-Kufaishi completed specialist training in Northwest London. She holds a master’s degree in quality and safety in healthcare and is the lead for quality and clinical governance in gynaecology and reproductive medicine at the Trust. Driven by a passion for patient safety and care, she works to foster a transparent, collaborative departmental culture that prioritises quality and safety in healthcare delivery.
