Dr Ashley Spencer Consultant dermatologist

Background

Dr Ashley Spencer is a consultant dermatologist at the Trust. She graduated from Birmingham Medical School with honours, multiple distinctions and several prizes. Her initial postgraduate medical training was in Birmingham.

She ranked first nationally for entrance into dermatology specialist training, earning a place on the North London Dermatology Training Programme with rotations at Imperial College Healthcare and University College London Hospitals NHS Trusts.

Dr Spencer has undertaken numerous research projects, has presented nationally and internationally, and has received multiple awards during her postgraduate training. She has a specialist lupus clinic at Hammersmith Hospital, where she works alongside her rheumatology and renal colleagues. She is currently undertaking an MD(Res) with Professor Chris Bunker at University College London, investigating the role of the microbiome in the aetiopathogenesis of female genital lichen sclerosus.
