Novacare Hospital, Pakistan, joins Imperial College Healthcare’s International Affiliate Network
We are very pleased to welcome our second member to our International Affiliate Network, Novacare Hospital, Islamabad.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is building a global International Affiliate Network of aspirational healthcare organisations to support high quality healthcare around the world. Expert multidisciplinary teams from the Trust work with member hospitals to help them establish and develop high quality clinical standards and practices. The agreement also supports the transfer of patients to the Trust’s private care facilities in London if more complex care is needed.
Novacare is a newly established private healthcare provider in Pakistan that aims to develop a world-class healthcare network across Pakistan with a particular focus on Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The affiliation has been established to support Novacare’s first hospital which is being built in Islamabad and is due to open in 2026. The hospital will include 250 inpatient beds, providing comprehensive tertiary care across 28 clinical services.
Through our international affiliation, Novacare will gain expert advisory input on models of care, staffing, and services and be supported to establish our clinical standards and protocols. Novacare’s clinicians and staff will also benefit from knowledge transfer from Imperial College Healthcare and opportunities to interact and work with leading clinicians. Novacare clinicians will be able to observe multidisciplinary team meetings and obtain second opinions from Imperial College Healthcare’s private care specialists.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Pakistan and Department for Business and Trade (Healthcare UK) in London provided support to Novacare and Imperial College Healthcare to enter into this affiliation which is the first of its kind between an NHS Trust and a healthcare operator in Pakistan. This is in line with the NHS Long Term Plan to transfer knowledge and expertise internationally, to promote high quality and safe healthcare across the world.
The international affiliation agreement between Imperial College Healthcare and Novacare Hospital was successfully negotiated by Faraz Minai, Ghalib Hafiz and Johannes Kedzierski of Andalus Holdings (managing shareholder of Novacare Hospital), and Alistair Russell, Director of Business Development for Private Care, and Nick Fox, Executive Commercial Director, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
All funds generated by the international affiliate programme are reinvested back into the Trust, supporting both NHS and private healthcare.
