Line Up for the NHS comedy night

Imperial Health Charity are holding a hilarious event to help raise money for our hospitals.

Line up for the NHS is back for its second performance following the success of last year’s event.

World famous comedian, Russell Howard will headline Union Chapel in Islington, joined by a rich line up of funny people on Thursday 24 October 2024.

Las year the event raised £17,000 helping make our hospitals a nicer place for patients and staff. All the money raised will continue to support services across the Trust and give back to the staff who work so tirelessly and passionately to care for their patients.

Russell Howard 

Russell Howard is one of the UK’s most successful comedians, with over 9 million followers on social media and has garnered over 1 billion views on social media worldwide including 500+ million views spawned from six seasons of The Russell Howard Hour.  

To date his current tour, Russell Howard Live, has sold over 250,000 tickets over 100+ gigs in the UK & Ireland alone (including 11 London Palladium gigs). So far, this tour has seen Russell play dates in the UK, USA, New Zealand and Australia. 

In December 2022, Russell wrapped filming the sixth series of ratings and critical hit The Russell Howard Hour. The show immediately became one of Sky’s most successful entertainment series when it launched and has also gone on to see huge success online with over 500 million views on social media. Previously, Russell wrote and starred in 10 seasons of Russell Howard’s Good News originally airing on BBC Three. Russells travelogue series, Russell Howard & Mum: Globetrotters was the highest-rated new commission on Comedy Central when it launched in 2016 and ran for two highly acclaimed seasons.

Tiff Stevenson 

Tiff is an internationally acclaimed actor, comedian and writer.   

As an actor she is best known for her roles as a series regular on 5 seasons of the BAFTA winning People just do nothing as well as guest starring on shows including The Office and White Gold. She also made her US film debut in the comedy horror Slotherhouse last year.   

As a comic she is known as one of the rare female regulars on BBC’s Mock the Week, and has been on shows like 8 our of 10 Cats and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. She was also the first British female comic to become a correspondent on a satirical show when she joined Logie winning Australian series The Weekly.  

Her writing credits include 2 series as staff writer on the Armando Iannucci helmed HBO comedy series Avenue 5. 

Michael Akadiri 

Michael’s natural charm and cheeky, observational style has already seen him make an impact on the UK comedy scene. He’s the inaugural winner of the Komedia New Comedy Award and starred in the London finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2021. 

As well as performing comedy, Michael works as a junior doctor in the NHS and is currently on a sabbatical from his surgical training. His medical background means he’s also in demand as a health commentator, appearing both on TV (BBC Two’s Newsnight) & Radio (Times Radio). 

Michael’s 2022 Edinburgh Fringe debut was success, with his show ‘No Scrubs’ selling out the run and culminated in a nomination for NextUp’s Biggest Award in Comedy.  

Eddie Kadi 

Recognised as one of the most globally celebrated stand up personalities, British-Congolese Eddie Kadi continues to dominate the world of comedy, reaching across cultures and continents and performing to huge crowds all over the world.

His signature brand of brilliant, bold and high energy entertainment has won him an ever-growing international fanbase and he was the first British Black comedian to headline the O2 Arena in London. 

He has hosted the prestigious MOBO Awards and appeared on numerous TV formats including BCC Strictly Come Dancing last year and the National Comedy Awards.  

In 2023 Eddie was nominated for both the prestigious Royal Television Society Best Breakthrough Award and Best Breakthrough Presenter at the Edinburgh TV Awards.  

Fatiha El-Ghorri  

Underneath Fatiha’s colourful hijab is a mind full of cutting observations and engaging witticisms on the life and times of a British Muslim woman. Fatiha smashes the Muslim stereotypes and challenges people to think about what they think they know about Islam, Muslims, and Muslim women especially. After debuting her work in progress show ‘Cockney Stacking Doll’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2023, Fatiha won the award for Best Debut Show.  

In February 2024 Fatiha was invited to perform onstage at the iconic London Palladium Theatre alongside Sir Lenny Henry as part of Comic Relief’s star-studded Live at the London Palladium event.  She has also made appearances on a numerous TV shows like The Jonathan Ross Show, The Russell Howard Hour and Big Zuu’s Big Eats.  

Steve Williams  

Steve is our wonderful MC for the night and has had numerous TV appearances including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard’s Good News, Tonight at the Palladium Stand Up Central Edinburgh and Beyond and The Comedy Store.

His three solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival garnered considerable critical success, with national tours following. He has also performed on tour with Russell Howard, Lee Mack and Danny Bhoy.
