Industrial action by the RCN on 15 and 20 December

Our absolute priority is to ensure we collectively provide safe care to all our patients during the industrial action. We have developed detailed plans which has determined what services we will run and what can be postponed. We will always provide emergency care and our A&E departments and inpatient wards will be open as usual. We hope to be able to provide a wider range of time critical care too though we will need to postpone other appointments and surgery.

How will I know if my appointment or surgery is going ahead?

If you are not contacted by us, please come to your appointment as planned.

If you are unsure, please call the number on your appointment letter or email appointments@imperial.nhs.uk or call 020 3313 5000.

If your appointment or surgery does need to be postponed, we will reschedule it for as soon as possible.

Our staff

Our staff work incredibly hard and we are grateful for everything that they do. The decision to take strike action is not one that will be taken lightly by anyone here. We support the right of our nurses and healthcare assistants to take industrial action and we are encouraging everyone – whatever their views – to respect each other’s decisions or views.
