How we work
With 14,500 staff working across the Trust and as part of a complex range of collaborations with external partners, it’s essential that we follow agreed policies. Often, these approaches are set or influenced by national legislation or expert opinion.
We’ve provided more information here about policies and ways of working that we think are most relevant to our patients and wider stakeholders.
If there is an aspect of our work that you would like to understand better, especially in terms of the policies or guidelines that we draw on, please contact imperial.web@nhs.net.
Clinical ethics
Made up of volunteers from many specialties and disciplines, and of varying experience, including lay representatives, our clinical ethics committee discusses general ethical issues and those concerning individual patients.
Safeguarding
Our duty as an NHS Trust is to protect adults (18 years and above) from risk, abuse or neglect in line with the 2014 Care Act.
Policies and procedures
In this section you will find documents outlining our Trust's various policies and procedures governing the way we work.
Disciplinary policy and procedure
Our disciplinary policy and procedure is designed to ensure a fair, systematic and consistent approach is taken when an employee's behaviour or action is in breach of workplace rules or falls short of the expected standards.
Publications
We publish all the information required by law, but we also communicate openly, frequently and clearly.
