Meet the team
The Imperial Memory Unit is a research unit run by Dr Richard Perry, conducting clinical trials for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease at Charing Cross Hospital. Our team is made up of experienced doctors, research nurses, raters, study coordinators and research assistants. We offer trials for people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, but also for people who has a family history of dementia, or are worried about their memory and wish to participate in trials, which may prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
The study coordinators will be your main point of contact during the trial, helping you with things like scheduling appointments and ensuring everything goes smoothly throughout the study. They usually have a background in psychology or nursing.
As for the raters, they're responsible for assessing how well you are doing in the trial using tests that measure memory and thinking skills. Raters usually have a background as psychologists.
Both the study coordinators and raters, alongside the rest of the team are there to support you and your study partner throughout the trial.
