Our facilities

The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital

The Lindo Wing has overseen private births for generations of families since 1937.

At the Lindo Wing, we offer consultant-led care in partnership with a dedicated team of experienced midwives and support staff to provide continuity of care throughout your pregnancy.

As part of the 2023 Care Quality Commission national inspection programme, we have retained an outstanding rating for our maternity services. We have reassuring support from our emergency care and adult neonatal intensive care units on site if needed.

The Lindo Wing includes a supervised nursery, dedicated birthing suites and facilities to support complex births, giving you peace of mind and helping you enjoy your journey in safe, comfortable and private surroundings.

Discretion is key to our service; we ensure that you have the space, security and privacy you need to enjoy these precious early moments as a family.

The Clayton Ward at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital

Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital is a world-renowned maternity, women’s and neonatal care hospital. It has a nationally celebrated centre for fetal care and a long history of clinical excellence.

The Clayton Ward is our private antenatal and postnatal ward within the hospital. The hospital is well equipped to deal with all pregnancies, from multiple to complex births.

With two fully equipped operating theatres next to the labour ward and high-dependency care facilities, we have everything on hand should babies need any additional support.

The Lindo Wing and the Clayton Ward are both part of Imperial College Healthcare Private Care, which provides access to exceptional clinical care and expertise, within some of London’s most respected NHS teaching hospitals.

Supporting you every step

Providing care from your very first midwife appointment to your baby's arrival, we are with you every step of the way.

From the moment we meet you, until the day you and your baby are discharged from our care, you will receive continuity of care from your obstetrician and our team of highly-skilled midwives.

Being linked to a major NHS hospital and a specialist neonatal care unit means our team has the expertise and capacity to respond quickly to any complication, 24 hours a day, offering the best clinical support for the safe birth of your baby.

Antenatal classes

Antenatal classes

To give parents-to-be the best start with their new or expanding family, we offer parent education sessions at both hospitals, led by our experienced midwives. Bespoke classes are also available to be given in the comfort of your own home if desired.

At the Lindo Wing, we offer antenatal sessions that cover all key areas to prepare you and your support person for birth and the period after your baby is born. We also offer a selection of stand-alone courses on baby massages, caesarean section workshops and baby first aid, which can be booked separately.

The antenatal classes on labour and birth are included at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital for anyone booking a midwife-led or consultant-led midwifery partnership package.

We recommend that antenatal classes are booked any time after 28 weeks of pregnancy.
